THE FOUNDERS

Roger and Grayson Nance, the father-son owners of Surf N’ Wear’s Beach House (pictured left and right beside Renny Yater), built the Santa Barbara Surfing Museum from the ground-up together.

It’s a project rooted in passion, family, and the magic of the central California coast. What began as a shared love of surfing — and a lifetime spent immersed in its culture — grew into a living tribute to the sport’s deep roots in Santa Barbara.

Built entirely by Roger and Grayson themselves, the museum is a community space and a personal labor of love. Every board, photograph, and artifact reflects the history of the sport and the Nance family’s own connection to it.

Come visit the museum to see our town’s unique contributions to a global sport … one that keeps growing every day.
